Mortgage Shield Home Owner Warranty & Pay-Later Terms

Welcome to the Mortgage Shield Home Owner Warranty

Thank you for choosing Mortgage Shield LLC. We’re honored to support you on one of the most important investments you'll ever make — your home.

The Mortgage Shield Home Owner Warranty was created to bring homeowners something that’s often missing in moments of financial stress: relief, clarity, and real support when it matters most.

Whether you're experiencing a temporary setback, a family emergency, a sudden loss of income, or simply looking for peace of mind, Mortgage Shield is here to help you stay protected, stay informed, and stay in your home.

This page explains what the Warranty includes, how Assistance Payments work, and how the Mortgage Shield Pay-Later Plan (MS-PLP) allows you to repay Mortgage Shield over time after we step in and help.

1. What the Home Owner Warranty Does

The Mortgage Shield Home Owner Warranty is a monthly protection service designed to help eligible homeowners prevent foreclosure, overcome hardship-related mortgage challenges, and stay on track during unexpected financial difficulties.

When a qualifying Hardship Event occurs, Mortgage Shield may provide:

  • Guidance and consultation to understand your options and strategy
  • Help preparing documents, hardship letters, and financial information your lender may require
  • Communication support with your mortgage lender or servicer
  • Assistance Payments (up to $8,000 per event, maximum 2 per rolling 12-month period) applied to delinquent mortgage amounts

Our goal is simple: you don’t have to face mortgage hardship alone. You have a partner in your corner.

2. Who Qualifies for Coverage?

Qualification is designed to be simple, fair, and accessible. To be eligible for Warranty Benefits:

  • You are a current paying Mortgage Shield customer in good standing
  • You maintain an active subscription with no missed payments
  • You complete a three (3) consecutive month Membership Period before requesting an Assistance Payment
  • The covered property is your primary residence and is located within the United States

No Credit Requirements — Ever

Your credit score is never checked and does not impact your ability to qualify. Mortgage Shield does not perform soft pulls, hard pulls, or credit inquiries of any kind.

As long as you’re an active member in good standing for at least three consecutive months, you may request assistance — even if your credit has been damaged by previous hardships.

3. What Counts as a Hardship?

Life happens — and when it does, Mortgage Shield is here to help. You may be eligible for Warranty Benefits if your ability to make mortgage payments is impacted by events such as:

  • Job loss or involuntary reduction in income
  • Medical emergencies, illness, or disability
  • Unexpected family hardship or loss of a household wage earner
  • Serious home or life emergencies
  • Divorce or separation affecting household income
  • Natural disaster impacts

Mortgage Shield reviews every request on a case-by-case basis. Routine nonpayment without hardship, intentional nonpayment, or speculative behavior is not covered.

4. How Assistance Payments Work

When a Hardship is verified and approved, Mortgage Shield may issue an Assistance Payment directly to your mortgage lender or servicer to help cure or reduce delinquency.

These payments:

  • Can be up to $8,000 per event
  • Are available up to two times per rolling 12-month period
  • Are applied toward delinquent mortgage payments or related charges

Because Mortgage Shield advances this payment on your behalf, it becomes part of your Mortgage Shield Pay-Later Plan (MS-PLP), described below in Part B.

5. What’s Not Included

The Warranty does not cover:

  • Investment properties, rentals, second homes, or non-primary residences
  • Intentional nonpayment without a genuine Hardship Event
  • Fraud, misrepresentation, or refusal to cooperate
  • Home repairs, maintenance, or physical property damage
  • Lender decisions or outcomes outside Mortgage Shield’s control

6. Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active Mortgage Shield membership with current payments
  • Provide accurate information about your mortgage and hardship
  • Respond promptly to documentation requests
  • Cooperate with Mortgage Shield and your lender throughout the process
  • Notify us of important lender notices, default notices, or foreclosure filings

PART B — Mortgage Shield Pay-Later Plan (MS-PLP)

When Mortgage Shield provides an Assistance Payment on your behalf, the amount advanced is repaid over time through the Mortgage Shield Pay-Later Plan (MS-PLP). This keeps your monthly membership affordable while still allowing us to step in financially when it matters most.

7. Repayment Balance and Service Fee

The MS-PLP Repayment Balance consists of:

  • The total Assistance Payment paid to your lender or servicer
  • A 5% service fee applied to the Assistance Payment amount, which helps cover processing and servicing costs

8. Flexible Repayment Options

You may choose one of the following MS-PLP repayment schedules:

  • 12-month plan
  • 24-month plan
  • 36-month plan

Your exact monthly payment, total repayment amount, and first due date will be displayed for your review and acknowledgment before Mortgage Shield disburses any Assistance Payment.

9. Automatic Payments (Auto-Debit)

You authorize Mortgage Shield and its payment processor to:

  • Automatically debit your chosen payment method for scheduled MS-PLP payments
  • Securely store your payment method for ongoing billing
  • Retry failed transactions a reasonable number of times
  • Charge any updated or replacement payment method you provide

This authorization remains in effect until your MS-PLP Repayment Balance is paid in full.

10. Delinquency, Default, and New Bailouts

If MS-PLP payments are missed or go unpaid, Mortgage Shield may:

  • Retry the charge and contact you for updated payment information
  • Temporarily suspend Warranty Benefits
  • Accelerate the remaining MS-PLP balance (full amount becomes due)
  • Refer the balance to a third-party collection partner
  • Deny new Assistance Payments until the balance is resolved

You must pay off any existing MS-PLP balance before qualifying for another Bailout Event, unless Mortgage Shield approves otherwise in writing.

11. Cancellation

You may cancel your Mortgage Shield subscription at any time, but cancellation does not cancel or reduce any outstanding MS-PLP Repayment Balance. All advanced funds remain due until paid in full.

12. Limitation of Liability and Dispute Resolution

Mortgage Shield is not responsible for lender decisions, processing timeframes, market conditions, or outcomes beyond our control. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to the total amount of Assistance Payments advanced on your behalf.

Any dispute arising from this Warranty or MS-PLP may be resolved through binding arbitration in the state where the covered property is located, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Electronic Signature Consent

By using Mortgage Shield services, continuing with enrollment, or digitally accepting these terms, you agree that your click, tap, or electronic acknowledgment constitutes your legally binding electronic signature.

We're Here for You

Mortgage Shield exists to help homeowners protect their homes, their families, and their peace of mind. If you ever experience a Hardship Event, we’re here to walk with you—step by step— until you’re back on solid ground.
